Doula Offerings
Do you want to enjoy the fourth trimester with your new baby and not just survive it?
Are you keeping that dream tucked away because the one time you said it your Auntie Sue basically laughed in your face and told you how hard its going to be?
You’re dreaming of the day you finally have your baby in your arms, but every exciting thought seems to come with a warning attached:
‘Well I was in Tesco 2 days after having you’
‘You can’t just sit around all day’
‘Breastfeeding is hard for everyone, it might not work for you’
‘You’ll see what tired really feels like’
And you don’t want that.
You're done with the horror stories about postnatal depression, feeding struggles, bleeding through adult nappies 48 hours after birth, and women being expected to do the bloody washing before they've even properly sat down after bringing a whole human into the world.
Because what if there was another way?
What if your fourth trimester wasn't something you simply survived?
What if it was something you actually enjoyed?
This is what you want, but it feels so far from what you expect your reality will be.
The truth is, the women around you who struggled weren't failing, and they probably weren’t choosing to be up and about immediately after birth because they actually wanted to.
They were unsupported.
Your friend who bled through her maternity pad two days after giving birth? She wasn't doing anything wrong. She was exhausted, overwhelmed, caring for a newborn and probably trying to keep the rest of the household running at the same time.
She didn't have someone to hold her baby while she slept.
She didn't have someone to reassure her that the weird newborn poo was normal.
She didn't have someone to listen when she burst into tears because her hair was falling out or because she loved her baby so much it physically hurt.
But you could.
And that's exactly why I created my Fourth Trimester Queen Packages.
I'm Not Just Someone Who Holds Your Baby
Although let's be honest, I will absolutely do that.
I will happily hold your baby while you shower, nap, eat a hot meal or just sit in silence for twenty minutes.
But that's not really what you're looking for.
You're not looking for a doula because you need another pair of hands.
You're looking for a doula because you want someone who knows when something is normal, when something needs attention, and when you simply need someone to tell you that you're doing a bloody brilliant job.
I'm the person who looks at a photo of your baby's poo and helps you decide whether it's something to worry about or not.
I'm the person who spots a feeding issue before you're sitting there on day ten, exhausted, with nipples more cracked than the pavement you're desperate to push the pram down.
I'm the person who notices when you're struggling.
The person who isn't afraid to say:
"I think you might be teetering towards postnatal depression, and we need to talk about that."
Because whilst ChatGPT can give you seventeen different options for a problem you're having, it can't help you figure out which one actually feels right for you.
It can't read your face.
It can't hear the wobble in your voice.
It can't reassure you that your feelings are valid.
It can't sit beside you on your sofa while you cry.
But I can.
I can be your sounding board.
Your reassurance.
Your knowledgeable voice in a sea of opinions.
Sometimes friends and family pussyfoot around a new mum because they're worried about stepping on her toes, saying the wrong thing, or sticking their oar in.
With me, you get honest support wrapped in compassion.
I bring up-to-date knowledge of newborn behaviour.
I've supported countless mothers with breastfeeding and helped them reach goals they never thought possible.
I'm a certified doula who understands how to hold space for the emotions that arrive after birth - including the ones everybody else seems scared to talk about.
So yes, I can absolutely put a wash load on and hold your baby while you nap.
But your mum or your friend could do that.
Welcoming me into your newborn bubble offers so much more.
Imagine this...
You've been awake seven times in the night.
Your boobs have never worked this hard in their entire life and actually, they’re starting to get a bit sore.
You've got two clean sleepsuits left.
The poo your baby did at 3am looked a bit questionable.
You're exhausted and your mood hasn’t lifted since day 5.
You want to tell someone how tired you are, but you already know the response you'll get.
"Maybe it's time to give them a bottle."
Which you DON’T want to do.
Then you remember, you’ve got me coming today.
And your shoulders drop.
Your mind rests.
Knowing that you can offload onto me for 3 hours, you can show me the picture of your baby’s poo and I can help you decide whether it’s normal or not.
I can witness your exhausted tears and gently notice when something feels bigger than newborn tiredness.
I can ask the questions everyone else is too nervous to ask.
And if needed, encourage you to get the right support.
You can feed your baby with someone beside you saying, "You're doing brilliantly."
And most importantly?
You don't have to explain yourself.
You’re not weird for wanting more than average
But right now, all you can imagine is life in the trenches.
Hair greasy enough to fry an egg.
Surviving from one feed to the next.
Because that's all you've ever seen.
But just because struggle is common doesn't mean it has to be your story.
You are not asking for too much because you want to stay in bed cuddling your baby.
You are not lazy because you want to spend a day skin-to-skin with your newborn.
You are not unrealistic because you want to enjoy motherhood.
In fact, I'd argue it's pretty damn powerful.
You want to lounge on the sofa with your boobs out, snacks within reach and absolutely nowhere to be.
You want to heal.
You want breastfeeding to get the best chance possible.
You want to watch Line of Duty while contact napping your baby without someone telling you you're making a rod for your own back.
You want to enjoy your baby. Not race through the experience trying to prove something.
And honestly?
That's exactly what newborn babies and recovering mothers need.
You know outsourcing this support means it’s guaranteed.
And that it also means you don’t feel resentful towards your family who visit and make things worse without realising (hellooo, make your own brew Auntie Sue!)
So what does outsourcing it actually look like?
One antenatal video call so than you can tell me exactly what you want from your fourth trimester, and we can map out what it might look like in advance.
One antenatal home visit so that you can show me where your tea bags are and we can have an IRL hug. Because I need to know where the essentials live, and I wanna see your bump!
Weekly 3 hour visits so that you can look forward to a day a week where you know you will be held with love and no judgement.
Whatsapp support so that you can shoot your questions to a real life human being, rather than the internet (I know, it has it’s uses but let’s be real you want emotion, not a robot)
Being able to enjoy your pregnancy, and bat off the comments of how shit postpartum has been for your auntie Sue, knowing you have support lined up especially for you will be something you can cherish forever.
So you can lounge with your boobs out, a bag of chocolate buttons and a large juice with ice always topped up. For one day a week.
My clients often share how no one else around them has had a fourth trimester like them. They sometimes even feel like they need to keep it a secret how much they enjoyed having a newborn baby.
I was the same
All of this isn't just something I've learnt through training.
I've lived it.
My first fourth trimester looked a lot like what most women are told to expect.
I was anxious, lonely, overwhelmed.
I cried more than I expected.
And despite being surrounded by people, I often felt incredibly alone.
I loved my baby so much, but if I'm honest, I spent so much time trying to survive that I struggled to truly enjoy those early weeks.
I thought that was just what postpartum was.
Something you got through.
Something that left you counting down the days until it got easier.
Then I became pregnant again.
And I knew I didn't want the same experience.
I wasn't interested in simply surviving this time.
I wanted to enjoy my baby.
I wanted to recover properly.
I wanted support.
So I did something different.
I outsourced it.
I hired a doula.
And it changed everything.
To know she was at the other end of the phone answering my almost crazy questions (hellloooo, hormones)
To know that she would be round with a chocolate croissant and some tissues for my inevitable tears for how much I love my baby (hellooo, hormones AGAIN!?)
To teach me how to help my baby release wind because his tummy issues were keeping us all up (hellooo, normal newborn)
Knowing someone was holding me whilst I learnt how to hold my baby transformed my fourth trimester.
And the difference wasn't because my second baby was easier.
The difference was because I wasn't trying to do it all alone.
I was supported and deeply cared for.
I was given space to enjoy motherhood instead of racing through it.
That's why I'm so passionate about giving that experience to other women.
Because I've seen firsthand what happens when a mother is left to figure it out alone.
And I've seen firsthand what happens when she is truly held.
The difference is enormous.
Picture yourself, 6 months postpartum.
You leaned into the slower pace of newborn life.
You contact napped if you wanted to.
You fed your baby when they needed feeding.
You ignored the comments about feeding them "again?"
You trusted your instincts.
You have a baby you're completely in tune with.
Your body healed because you allowed it to.
No pressure.
No bounce-back nonsense.
Just recovery.
Rest.
Support.
But the ripple effect didn't stop with you.
Your relationship benefitted too.
Because when a newborn arrives, it's not just a baby that's born. You’re now parents and your relationship has to find its feet all over again.
Instead of resentment quietly building because neither of you knew how to navigate this huge life change, you felt supported.
You felt seen.
You felt understood.
Having me there to walk alongside you in those early weeks meant you weren't carrying the weight of everything alone. Your partner didn't have to guess what you needed. He had someone he could ask questions to. Someone who could reassure him that what you were both experiencing was normal. Someone who could help him understand how best to support you during one of the biggest transitions of your lives.
The support you invested in during pregnancy gave you both the confidence to step into parenthood as a team.
So instead of feeling like you're on opposite sides of the planet, you feel like you're standing shoulder to shoulder through it all.
Loved.
Held.
Like your little family was finding its rhythm together. And instead of merely surviving those newborn weeks, you were actually able to be present for them.
And because you were able to trust yourself, protect your recovery and enjoy your baby without constantly second-guessing your choices, you now have a baby you're completely in tune with.
One that you've spent months getting to know without outside pressure drowning out your instincts.
When your friends start having babies, you find yourself telling a different story.
Not a horror story.
A hopeful one.
A story about how magical the fourth trimester can be when a mother is genuinely supported.
Because you had a doula who saw you for the incredible mother you already were.
Because your fourth trimester matters.
Not just for your recovery.
Not just for your breastfeeding journey.
Not just for your mental health.
But for the way you remember the beginning of your baby's life.
You only get one chance to live these first weeks.
Let's make sure you're held through them.
Whether you're looking for one visit a week for those precious first six weeks, or you want your entire fourth trimester lovingly supported, there's a package designed to help you create the postpartum experience you truly want.
My packages start from £1295. If you want to talk about which package would work best for you and your family, lets chat.
